Common Sense Comes to Town!

Common sense is the most fairly distributed thing in the world, for each one thinks he is so well-endowed with it that even those who are hardest to satisfy in all other matters are not in the habit of desiring more of it than they already have. (Descartes)

Future Conservative Minister?

I copy here without any shame whatsoever two videos relayed on Cyberpresse’s chronicler Vincent Marissal’s blog. These two clips unveil without restrait the deeper convictions of Sandrine Gressard Bélanger, conservative candidate in Compton-Stanstead. So I ask the question: why bother with an election altogether if the Universe can manage national affairs on its own? (Videos are in French only, however).

And there is a sequel:

Well, this conviction that problems will solve themselves on their own, without any kind of outside intervention, is a perfect fit to Conservative ideology, which seeks to prevent government intervention in public affairs. Knowing the profund distrust of Québécois with anything associated with the religious right, is the recycling of New Age values a bold, cynical move on Harpers’s part?
